Frequently Asked Questions About Clinical Counselling

Therapy is for anyone who wants support, clarity, or personal growth. If you’re feeling stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, depressed or uncertain about the next steps in life, therapy can help. It’s a misconception to think you need to be in crisis before seeking therapy.

That’s perfectly okay and normal. Many people feel that way at first. You don’t need to prepare anything or have the perfect words. I’ll guide the conversation gently, and together we’ll find a starting point that feels manageable. Sometimes, just showing up is the most important step.

My counselling style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I use evidence-based methods, but always with compassion and care. Together, we’ll find what works best for you and I’ll never push you to go deeper than you’re ready for.

It really depends on your goals and what you’re working through. Some people feel a shift after just a few sessions, while others choose to continue longer for deeper work. We’ll check in regularly and move at a pace that feels right for you.

Most people start with weekly or biweekly sessions, depending on what feels manageable and supportive. We’ll talk about what’s realistic for you, and adjust as needed over time. My goal is to create a rhythm that helps you make steady, meaningful progress.

Not at all. Therapy is for anyone who wants to better understand themselves, make positive changes, or feel more at ease in their life. You don’t need a big event or diagnosis to benefit from support. More often than not it’s about untangling the small, everyday struggles that quietly wear you down.

That’s more common than you think. Finding the right fit matters, and it’s okay to feel hesitant. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and focused on what actually works for you … not just a method or checklist. If you’re open to trying again, we’ll take it one step at a time, together.

Yes I do offer virtual counselling via phone or video conferencing when in person sessions are not an option due to reasons such as business travel or holiday, personal or family issues, or injury or illness.

You don’t have to carry everything on your own. Therapy is a place where you can feel seen, heard, and supported—without judgment or pressure. Wherever you are in your journey, I’m here to walk alongside you.”
